Trivela Academy: Meet the Coaches
Juan Guerrero Jr.
Founder & Head Coach
Juan Jr. brings a modern, high-intensity perspective to youth development, rooted in his own experience as an elite prospect in the Northern California soccer circuit. A former youth standout, Juan developed within the academy system as an attacking midfielder and forward, training under San Jose Earthquakes legend Troy Dayak.
Recognized early for his tactical awareness and technical ceiling, Juan was the inaugural recipient of the Amway Global Soccer Scholarship, a prestigious award connected with the San Jose Earthquakes that identifies and supports the region’s most promising developmental talents. Today, he translates that high-level experience into a coaching style that prioritizes individual ball mastery and rapid decision-making under pressure.

Juan Guerrero Sr.
Head Coach & Technical Director
With over 40 years of elite soccer experience as both a player and a coach, Juan Guerrero Sr. has built his coaching career on a foundation of skill development, tactical knowledge, and a deep love for the game. His career began at the highest level of the sport, serving as a professional player and captain for CD FAS, one of Central America’s most prestigious clubs. Juan also earned over 25 caps for the Salvadoran National Team, representing his country on the international stage.
As a coach, Juan’s resume is equally distinguished. He has led professional and national youth teams in El Salvador and has spent the last two decades as a cornerstone of the Northern California soccer community. Currently serving as an Age Group Director and Head Coach at Mustang Soccer Club, Juan has also held leadership roles with San Francisco Scorers and Livermore Soccer Club.
